She is doing PHENOMENAL!! They are getting along great. She’s sleeping through the night, and no accidents in the house. We are so so happy!
We cannot thank you enough again for the care you gave Angel her first few months. She is the sweetest pup and is a wonderful addition to our family.
I hope you’re doing well! We celebrated Kingsley’s first birthday yesterday and I thought you might enjoy so pics from the event(: I can’t believe he is already one year old! I can’t thank you enough for bringing him into my life. Just might have to bring home a baby brother for him soon! I hope all is well at Safe Harbor—Kingsley misses you and sends lots of puppy kisses!
She’s got riding on the UTV down.
She got a pup Latte from Starbucks🐾🐾
Hope all is well in Kansas! Just wanted to send you a quick email to let you know that Snowflake (who now goes by Mozzarella, Mutz for short!) is doing great, and to send some photos along. My two favorites are the one where I'm holding her in my kitchen (which Mike took on my birthday last weekend) and the one at her standing at the windowsill, which is her favorite place in our apartment. She stands there to watch the trains go by on the tracks next to our building, and just to generally survey her kingdom :)
You, Sir, did an amazing job with her!
She is now 6 months & 9 days old and now weighs 55lbs.
Her vet is guessing that she will end up weighing about 75- 85lbs. she will be a good size! She loves & plays with all of our grandkids. She goes to work with us everyday and greets all of our customers, they all enjoy playing with her. She has 10 acres to enjoy and we are outside the majority of the time. She absolutely LOVES to swim and play in the pond.
Not only the pond, but the water hose and the horses water troughs!
A little cautious of the horses, but that is ok with me. When I go get them from the back pasture or let them out there, she will usually sit at the entrance of the barn and wait there until I get back. She is a total joy!! Hope you enjoy the pictures. I thank you so much, she is a perfect fit for our family!! God Bless You!
I adopted Moon last February from Safe Harbor and he has turned out to be the greatest dog in every way possible. He loves people and is the mushiest, squishiest, huggiest dog ever! The other day, for some reason, I started to sing Moon River and he actually got up from sleeping and came to me by where he put his head on my lap and pressed hard ... I think whoever had him before may have sung him this song and It stirred up some memories. It was so sweet and those are the times where I really wished I knew his background. Moon is my second dog from Safe Harbor and I cannot imagine going anywhere else. I may be looking for a second lab down the road and Safe Harbor is the only organization that I will adopt from. Please feel free to post this and let his handler know that Moon is loved and adored beyond words. Thanks for the lives you save and enriching those of us who adopt them!!
Just wanted to say Merry Christmas to all of you at Safe Harbor Prison Dog Program. We are so happy we found Murphy (Liam). He has made so much progress in becoming more comfortable around people. He loves playing frisbee, and chewies (raw hides). He will run around the house, trying to find a good hiding spot if he wants to save it for later. We can’t wait to see how he reacts to our first snowfall, which may be soon!
Here he is sporting his bow tie after his grooming last week.
Thank you for the Christmas card and also wanting to include Kohl in your publications— here is the most recent photo of Kohl.
They are the very best of friends already. They play and nap and play some more! We have been working on kennel training and it’s going pretty well. Here is some cute moments!
I caved and did that DNA your dog test because I got so many questions on what Addie is. According to it she’s mostly husky, and some Bernese mountain dog and Irish wolfhound. I was surprised - it’s an unusual combination. She LOVES huskies though (more than other breeds it seems) and plays very well with them at the dog park, so maybe that makes some sense.
I’ve been taking her on a lot of runs with me, she’s a very motivating running partner. She’s fast - and gets me to run faster. We even got third at a jingle bell run 5k for the arthritis foundation a couple weeks ago.
I’ve got her in some obedience classes to try to get her to heel better and listen around distractions (She pulls a lot still and I worry about her choking if I don’t use a harness, which she hates and tries to chew off) and they recommended a gentle leader, which seems to help, and I don’t worry she’s going to choke herself at least. She’s still overall very good - never chews up stuff in the apt (unless I leave something dumb out that looks like a toy) and rarely even barks, and great with kids and other dogs.
She’s loves the colder weather. She rolls around in the frost, and I’m excited to see what she does in snow.
So, today I took my mom to play in the H2O and meet some firemen! She's a really good mom but worries about me a lot - always kissing and hugging me! She's still working on a bed that is as BIG as my old prison cell. Please tell my handler I said hello and I'm loving my new life and thank you so so so much for teaching me such good manners!!!
Just a note to let you know Charley is FANTASTIC! Her handler did such a wonderful job!
She is the sweetest girl and is fitting in perfectly.
Here is an update on Jackson and Macy. They're both doing really well. I can't believe that they're a year old already. I don't mind if you want to put the update on your website.
Wendy, here’s a photo of us and Candy (now known as Sassy). She jumped right into our lives as if she had been there all along and just had to find her way home. Feel free to post it on the website. Thanks again for all that you all do.
Please let those who helped foster the Boxer/Aussie, Jasmine (now known as Bonny), my heartfelt thanks for doing such a good job getting her ready for adoption. She is an awesome dog! Inside the house she is so well behaved—she's never had an accident, she only chews on her toys (the Kong rope bunny gets the biggest work out), she goes in her kennel to sleep when asked, and she's learned lots of new tricks.
She's enjoying her new backyard too. Her favorite activity is chasing squirrels and then dig up their acorns just to show them who's boss. We have lots of oak trees which means lots of sticks, and those are also her favorite. We're hoping to get some sort of agility training for her to keep her busy. She can really run and jump!
She hasn't felt the need to bark much, but fire flies are apparently bark worthy. Most of all, though, she's just super sweet and lovable, and we're so happy to have her join our family! Attached are some recent pictures. She probably weighs about 28 pounds now.
Here is a photo of Pebbles (now Milly) and Evie (now Ginger) for the SHPD website. We hope their handlers liked the photos we dropped off for them last Saturday.
Dear Wendy, it was almost a year ago when we brought home Dexter. He is now part of our family, and we are so happy with him. He just passed the canine good citizen test, but he's still a bit of a rascal. Thank you so much!
This is picture of the former Booger Boy (now Boomer). He was the Captain on the pontoon boat as you can see he is a pretty spoilt little guy.
Wendy I hope that you are doing well. I miss seeing you when we took the dogs down to Safe Harbor and boarding. 😁 I always new that they would be spoilt rotten when they were in your care.
Cash - Today he went
to the marina.
a trip to the spa.

Sid... My daughter has claimed him as her baby! The kids love him. I couldn't pick a better dog than Sid!!
Hello! We adopted Wilhelmina May, formerly Willa, back in June and it was one of the best decisions of our lives. When we first adopted her she was worried about everything, didn't really play much, didn't like the car much and never barked. Since we have gotten to know her we have learned that she loves treats, she has learned how to use her voice, she loves to snuggle, she loves people, loves tug of war, and she is as goofy as ever. We love her so much. She is fully potty trained with very few accidents now! Yay! She loves fruits and stealing her older sisters food. She has also learned to love going on car rides with us and we take both of our dogs everywhere. We would like to thank you all for helping us find the loves of our lives and a wonderful friend of my old lady dog (Lola). They are keeping each other young. A millions thanks from all of us! Katee and Kyle Willee and Lola!
